<p>takealot.com, South Africa's leading online retailer, is looking for a highly talented <strong>Digital Graphic Designer</strong> to join our <strong>Retail Media team</strong> in Cape Town.</p> <p><strong>Key responsibilities: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Supporting the Retail Media team with digital design executions for all retail media solutions including CRM (mailers, animated graphics for in-app and pop-up banners, display banners, video, and more.</li> <li>Keeping abreast of advancements in new technologies and techniques, contemporary trends in design to deliver cutting-edge work.</li> <li>Brainstorming and conceptualizing ideas as well as storyboarding.</li> <li>Participating in idea sessions to share new design perspectives and ideas.</li> <li>Adding effects/elements to enhance motion graphics.</li> <li>Creation of Retail Media Go-to-market materials (Pitchdecks, Flyers, Social posts etc)</li> <li>Working collaboratively with the design team, Retail Media team, broader Marketing team & on occasion Retail and Promotions departments.</li> <li>Consistently delivering work on time.</li> <li>Working within the brand CI and templates.</li> <li>Working quickly and efficiently with exceptional attention to detail.</li> <li>Implementing and delivering on feedback from senior management and peers.</li> <li>Improving design & retail media collaboration through process documentation and prioritization.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Minimum Required Qualification, Experience, Competencies:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Graphic Design.</li> <li>3 - 5 years’ experience in Graphic Design.</li> <li>Excellent self-management and communication skills.</li> <li>Motion effects/ After Effects or any other animation/video and motion program knowledge advantageous.</li> <li>Understanding of HTML 5 skills.</li> <li>Experience building, editing, and managing modular templates within CMS systems (eg Braze, Salesforce, MailChimp and Stripo etc).</li> <li>Great Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator skills.</li> <li>Good understanding of digital and mobile design principles. </li> <li>An understanding of typography, colour, composition and how these elements work together for a design solution.</li> <li>Understand the importance of brand design.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Skills, knowledge & abilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Excellent self-management and communication skills.</li> <li>Motion effects/ After Effects or any other animation/video program knowledge advantageous.</li> <li>Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, notably Photoshop, Illustrator.</li> <li>Basic knowledge of HTML 5.</li> <li>Good understanding of digital and mobile design principles.</li> <li>An understanding of typography, colour, composition and how these elements work together for a design solution.</li> <li>Understand the importance of brand design.</li> <li>An understanding of generative AI prompting, model capabilities and how these elements work together for innovative and efficient creative outcomes is advantageous</li> </ul> <p><strong>The Environment</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">: </span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;"> takealot.com employees are entrepreneurial and dynamic, smart, customer- centric, fun and have the shared ambition of takealot.com being the leading e- commerce company in Africa. </span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;"> We have fun, work hard, take ownership, work in teams to create solutions, and are always open to direct feedback/new ideas on where we can improve. </span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;"> We are short on ego and high on output. </span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;"> We are doers and not only thinkers, its all in the execution after all. </span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;"> We love what we do and what we are creating</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">. </span></li> <li>We seek to employ an <strong>Extra Ordinary Mind </strong>who <span style="font-weight: 400;">is </span>Smart, has Integrity, <span style="font-weight: 400;">and </span>is Hardworking. </li> </ul> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you meet the above you are an </span><strong>Extraordinary Mind </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">so come and join us! </span></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><strong><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">Takealot Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
