We're looking for a Senior Engineer - Planning to join our organization in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive planning strategies that drive project success and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to make decisive recommendations that align with organizational objectives. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to optimize resource allocation, manage complex timelines, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines using industry-standard planning tools and methodologiesAnalyze project requirements and constraints to identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for optimizationAllocate resources effectively across multiple projects, ensuring optimal utilization and capacity planningConduct feasibility studies and provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholdersMonitor project progress against established baselines and implement corrective actions as neededPrepare and present comprehensive planning reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to managementCollaborate with engineering teams, project managers, and clients to refine planning strategies and address challengesEstimate project costs, budgets, and resource requirements with accuracy and attention to detailIdentify process improvement opportunities and implement streamlined planning proceduresMentor junior planning staff and contribute to the development of planning best practices within the organizationEnsure compliance with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and industry guidelines Minimum 8 years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in a planning or scheduling roleAdvanced proficiency with project planning software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent toolsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trendsDemonstrated expertise in resource allocation, capacity planning, and budget forecastingExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneouslyProficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools for reporting and forecastingStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings to diverse audiencesExperience in risk assessment, mitigation planning, and contingency managementKnowledge of project management methodologies including Agile, Lean, or traditional waterfall approachesProven track record of improving planning processes and driving operational efficiencyPreferred: Experience working in the UAE or Middle East region with familiarity of local regulatory and market conditionsPreferred: Experience leading or mentoring planning teamsPreferred: Familiarity with engineering project management within infrastructure, construction, or industrial sectors At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
